Hi I’m new to this community but I start my first day at Starbucks in about two weeks from now. I’m 17, I know a few things about coffee, but other then that I’m a total noob. Any tips on the job or advice? Thanks 😬

Don’t be messy on bar, laugh at the stupid stuff, and don’t be afraid to stand up to a Karen! Remember it’s just coffee, and you don’t get paid enough to be yelled at/berated/disrespected by grown ass adults.

Always make sure you’re doing something. If you have no drinks/customers then wipe stuff down, put stuff away, restock, and by that time you’ll probably have another customer. There is no down time unfortunately hahah

first of all, congrats! i’ve been at sbux for about two months so i’m also fairly new :) my biggest advice in general is ASK QUESTIONS! the other partners at your store would much rather take a few seconds to answer a question and show you how to do something than have to take several minutes to redo something you did wrong because you didn’t ask for help.
some more specific advice for once you’ve started training: -take pictures of all the different screens on the computer at the register. this will help you learn where all the buttons are for when you’re taking orders! -if you don’t already have it, get the starbucks app! you can view all the drinks and it’ll tell you exactly what goes into all of them (syrups, shots, toppings, etc.) -make sure you have dress code appropriate outfits to wear to work! talk to your store manager if you need clarification on dress code -get some good work shoes - i love my pair from shoes for crews (they’re nonslip!) but i also wear my doc martens a lot -finally, don’t stress it! no one nails everything this job immediately - after two months i still ask like five questions every shift because i don’t know everything! and customers will usually be more patient with you if you let them know you’re new and just figuring things out :)
good luck! you got this!!
