question about time off? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by canidieyet_
so i moved in july, and my friends who now live 1.5-2 hours away are planning a trip to see me soon. i’ve already asked for time off for my aunt’s wedding last month and it was approved, but would it be okay to just put “personal time” for the reason? idk the trip isn’t until mid-december so i’m planning to put the notice in a couple of days when the date is finalized so it’s well over 3 weeks in advance

As long as it’s not a holiday or a day where several other people requested time off it should be fine. When we work variable schedules it’s reasonable to request time off when necessary. I request 2-3 days off a month for various doc appointments, family commitments, etc. Unless you have really limited availability to begin with or your SM is a total jerk, it shouldn’t be a problem.

i think i should be fine, then. i don’t know about anyone else scheduling that day off but it’s not a holiday! my SM is the sweetest and tries to accommodate to everyone!
