HIPAA is only thing for healthcare providers. Your manager is legally incapable of committing HIPAA violations.

HIPPA or not, managers are not allowed to tell who it was unless that partner comes forward to tell everyone on their own terms. Managers can only tell partners they were exposed to *someone*.

> I’m asking because of HIPPA

which is why I’m talking about HIPAA.

I gotcha, I’m just adding that they still can’t say who it was regardless of hipaa.
coffeecat7918 2 points 2y ago
It’s on only a HIPAA violation if someone other than the people in question was showing their results. And that’s pretty much a medical community thing.

If that partner and sig other were showing their own results that’s their choice.

I see. So if my manager or any other employee asks to see the results, that’s a no go?
coffeecat7918 1 points 2y ago
They can say no. They don’t *have* to show them the results but if they want to they can.

But I also think in some weird thing if you don’t quarantine the full 14 days you have to have 2 negative tests. I could be wrong on that one though so anyone feel free to correct me on that.

Oh okay, I’m not sure about that one either but that makes sense. I might’ve been exposed to COVID-19 and I told the person who has it that I might need to show their test results as “proof” but she didn’t want to because it’s invasion of her privacy.
coffeecat7918 2 points 2y ago
I mean, if they’re telling you you were exposed by them I’d just quarantine to be safe. I don’t think they would falsely tell you something like that.

It’s a matter of public safety. If you are COVID positive, you are a risk to the customers and partners. For example, if you are with someone who has HIV, or another sexually transmitted disease, you have to inform the person you are having relations with because it affects another person other than yourself.
