Hard work, having to learn and remember a lot, being thrown into situations without fully being trained on that thing, some physical labor (lifting, squatting, lots of walking), dealing with many baristas behind the bar at once (you will get into people’s way when you first start). Just be adaptable, ask questions, study the menu before you start, be prepared for whatever is thrown at you by not having too many expectations. Just go in ready to work and help with whatever the team needs. Good luck!

the best thing you can do it take notes! make a list on your phone of opening and closing duties, write down the stuff you need to replace/make before the end of your shift, and memorize the # of shots/syrup that goes into the drinks! if you think of every drink as the same thing with different syrups, you’ll be golden.
HOT DRINKS:
shots- Tall: 1 Grande: 2 Venti: 2
syrup- Tall: 3 Grande: 4 Venti: 5
ICED DRINKS:
shots- Tall: 1 Grande: 2 Venti: 3
syrup- Tall: 3 Grande: 4 Venti: 6 Trenta: 7
FRAPS: (frap roast, syrup, coffee/creme base)
Tall: 2 Grande: 3 Venti: 4
i have all of this written down on a sticky note just in case :) i hope this helps!!
