Depends. I’m at a cafe store and we get pretty busy in the mornings. But with covid and other stores closing, we’ve been having to pick up several stores worth of business. On red cup day, we made more $ in a half hour than the drive-thru stores.

The afternoons seem to be much less stressful, but they also have less people so there’s more work and tasks that everyone has to do.

What do you consider disability? I have anorexia nervosa and have accommodations from Partner Resource. My manager ROCKS. No lifting anything over 10 lbs., or shifts over 6 hours and I get an extra ten, as well as minimal time on POS. Both Starbucks and my store acknowledges my health and struggles and still let me thrive.

I’m really glad they help accommodate you! That’s definitely reassuring (and good for you to have such a caring environment!). I have stage 3 endometriosis, I would need similar accommodations and occasional time off due to disabling symptoms and surgeries. I’ve had two surgeries in the past year alone, hopefully won’t need another for a while but this disease is hard to predict/manage.

i’ve been in a cafe only store for over a year now and it is such a different experience! my first store was in a newer shopping center, so it did get busy at times but not like DT. in my experience, cafes are mobile order heavy - not good or bad, just something i noticed. my current store is an older store and is a bit slower, but i love it! gives so much room for customer connections and all the employees are super great! obviously this might differ from store to store, but i feel like a cafe only gives you a chance to cultivate relationships with both customers and partners that you don’t necessarily get at a DT

I work a cafe store in a college town right off campus and it's an adventure! I love my store but the influx of students between classes can be overwhelming. Right now we aren't as busy as we've been in the past so we struggle for partners. I'm still staying positive because I love what I do and I know it won't be this way forever..having a kickass SM also helps
