I had a fun day of putting customers in their place.(self.starbucksbaristas)

I haven’t been on DT in a while, and not since I’ve hit such a “fuck it” point in my attitude towards work, until today. 10/10 recommend giving customers a hard time wherever convenient. Highlights of the day: when someone pulled up to the box and immediately started ordering before I even said anything, I let them finish their order before saying “hi welcome to Starbucks, how can I help you today” very cheerily; explaining to someone why they couldn’t possibly have ordered an iced caffe misto; and politely refusing an abrasive customer the venti vanilla bean frappuccino in three tall cups they ordered.

We ran out of stoppers for like 3 days. I usually say "unfortunately, we're out at this time," or something to that effect. We've been so short staffed lately, like 2 or 3 people on the schedule for a morning shift, that I just don't care about pleasantries anymore!
I realized that it actually tickles me so much to just say no.
"Um, you don't have any stoppers?"
"No, enjoy your drink!"
It's to the point, and leaves no room for replies. We can all go about our day. I just don't have time to listen to people complain that we're always out of something, or that it inconveniences them so much. I'm getting drinks out so that I can lend a hand to the green bean getting overwhelmed on register, grab the beeping oven, start another pot of coffee, or do a pull.
