Three separate times this passed week, with three different customers, I've had someone order an iced caramel macchiato and seem confused when they got their drink. They say they thought it was a blended drink, I explain that they're thinking of a frap, and have their drink remade to what they wanted.
Is this a common occurrence for anyone else?

I have been told straight to my face macciato means iced.
I have been told they order a caramel macciato Frappuccino and everyone but me has known what they want.
I have been told that machaka latte is always frozen and blended....
I have been asked for a starberry IKEA...
A berry incubus refresher.
The machaka latte.
Ohh I could write a book

Oh boy. I've only been with the company about a month and already I've heard some...strange things. My favorite will always be the variations in how people pronounce acai.

it was that was 20 years ago. Same with Mocha.
"Can I have a large mocha?"
"Sure, would you like whipped cream on top?"
"Yes."
*Some time later*
"Oh, I wanted it cold, can I get this iced?"
"Sure, no problem."
*Some time later*
"Oh, I thought it was like a slushie?"

My favorite from this week:
“I want a caramel frappe.”
“Ok, a caramel Frappuccino, what size?”
“No I don’t want a frappichini, I want a frappe!”
“We don’t serve frappes, only Frappuccinos.”
My partner said she would have told her to go to McDonalds, which is why I put myself on drive at night.

My store location/community is very diverse. I don't take it personally if there's a language barrier. I understand it's tough living in America with not perfect English. It's only frustrating when they're rude when I'm trying to educate them on the drinks so they don't continue having issues.
Other than that, Americans are usually the ones unwilling to listen and learn. They love to have conflict with service workers and think everything is a personal attack. Not every barista is going to know what you mean. I hate when they don't understand that.

You know what, just yesterday someone ordered that blended. I bet it’s a new tick tok thing and they just don’t fully know what they are ordering.
