Ex-Barista here, I want to get rehired so bad! (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by justbugz
Hey all,

I am an starbucks barista back from 2015-2017, I really enjoyed my job and my partners and even my regular customers, it was really one of my favorite jobs.

I'd really like to apply again to work at a store in the new city I live in but my problem is that I think I am on the DNR (Do Not Rehire List).

I had a long falling out with my manager: a time where I was scheduled outside of my availability and written up for it, I reached out to our District Manager and the write up was revoked. I received verbal and disciplinary retaliation from my manager until I attempted to place my 2 weeks notice. He took it as a letter of immediate resignation and removed me from the store.

I'm coming here to ask an Shift Supervisors or maybe managers on here what I should do? I am really in need of a job due to covid hours at my current job being slim to nothing and I'd really like to get back into barista-ing.

I have a Shift from my old store that would be a great reference for me- I'm really hard working and very passionate about coffee and making people's day a little better with yummy coffee and I think he can vouch for that.

Any advice would be great here :)

The Starbucks of today is pretty much unrecognizable from what the company was even a few years ago. I don’t recommend returning.

I can definitely see that even as a customer now, but I'm really relaxed and easily adaptable. I am mainly doing it because it's one of the only jobs in my area I'm qualified to do/really can do with the current position I am in now. I'm really looking for advice so that I can get rehired- regardless if it's a permanent thing, I need hours wherever I can get them.
