jayessdubs 6 points 2y ago

Isn’t working within 8 hours of two shifts against Starbucks policy? Y’all need to be addressing this to your SM/DM
queerbarista- 7 points 2y ago
8 hours isn’t enough if you work 30 mins away and want to shower or do any self care, and then if people have to take care of children or animals it all takes out of the 8 hours. after all that i get a good 5-6 hours of sleep which leaves me tired
lalaland_lauren 2 points 2y ago
I get that, but clopening shouldn’t be a thing with that rule. I think that to others, eight hours is definitely better than five hours in between shifts, usually as soon as you mention the eight hour rule to managers they schedule you like nine hours later (from my experience)

As an opener... showing up for a closing shift it’s always “GOOD MORNING welcome to Starbucks” on DT and customers always get mad
BeerCat94 6 points 2y ago
God. Customers will get mad over anything 😩
mouldyeggpatty 4 points 2y ago
Me when I’m scheduled 2:30-11 four days in a row and then I’m 5:30-2 immediately after my day off
BeerCat94 2 points 2y ago
I’m in this picture and I don’t like it.
babyybeean 2 points 2y ago
Me covering my friend’s 10 am yesterday 😔
Mayachees 1 points 2y ago
This will be me on thanksgiving. I close and then open the next morning.
And I can’t get mad at anyone because I wrote the schedule. 😂
Vintage_Espionage [OP] 2 points 2y ago
RIP 😂
courtnafer 1 points 2y ago
I’ve been stuck in a perpetual clopen for weeks now, it’s never ending. I’m at the point where I’m switching shifts just so I don’t have to open after my own close. It’s exhausting
fuxkyachickenstrips 1 points 2y ago
That’s known as a ‘clopen’ at our store haha
Vintage_Espionage [OP] 1 points 2y ago
Oh I’m very familiar with the term 😂 I don’t always ‘clopen’ but I’ll close but then get scheduled to come in at like 6am. Tbh idk what’s worse
fuxkyachickenstrips 1 points 2y ago
A clean play and then an open the next morning lmfao hell on earth.
Vintage_Espionage [OP] 1 points 2y ago
RIP
Simplyroro 1 points 2y ago
When block scheduling went away I entered the whiplash realm! 8 hour close friday 2pm to 1030, 8 hour close on Saturday, Sunday lets work from 10am to 6pm and then open 4am to 1230 on Monday, Tuesday let's not work until clean play 4pm to 1230am ... on my day off Wednesday I SLEPT THE WHOLE DAY.
Vintage_Espionage [OP] 2 points 2y ago
Dude same here, I have pretty open availability and my manager throws me around like a rag doll on the schedule to help cuz a lot of my baristas are picky
