Am I being annoying? (self.starbucksbaristas)

So Starbucks is my weekend job. My main job is M-F in a different city than my store. Which leads to me going to another Starbucks that is on the same road as my main job every weekday to get my markout. Anywho, I always feel like I'm super polite because i know how overwhelming it can be firsthand. And most of the baristas there that I have interacted with are super nice.
A lot of times it's the store's SM that takes my order at the time that I go (mornings). He's pretty abrasive, idk if it's on purpose or not but he's one of those that cuts you off at every mod saying "anything else, anything else" but sort of in a rude tone. But I just continue being polite because maybe that's just how he interacts with everyone.
I try and not go when it's busy. I have turned around and left multiple times when the line is long because I can wait until later to avoid putting further stress on them. But this morning I decided to wait in line because I wasn't going to be at work very long since it was Friday (I was probably 3 cars away from the order screen when I joined the line - 7:30am).
Again it was the SM at DTO, no biggie. But then when I get to the window, DTR (who really is super sweet which is why I'm really putting stock into her opinion) made a comment about me holding up the line. She was kinda joking but kinda not and she said well it's the drink that you order, the fact it has 6 shots. And I was like well I don't want to make anyone mad, should I come at a different time. And she thought for a second and then said nah don't worry about it, it's fine. But is it though?
My drink is a Venti Iced Latte, 6 Blonde Ristretto shots, 3 WM, 3 TN, whole milk, light ice.
Sorry for the book, but am I annoying?? Kinda makes me feel like I should just not go to anyone elses store so I don't bother the baristas. I just feel like some of the other partner orders that I get can be so much worse lol but even they don't bother me and I'm usually the one on bar.

Honestly I would love to make an easy drink like that.
Yeah it might take time for the shots to pull, but being ristretto they tend to pull a little quicker anyway. I’d take this over the millions of mods or cold foams any day.

I don’t think you’re overthinking, I think they might be being a little passive aggressive honestly. I know times are tough and stressful so maybe they’re having a rough time, and it’s always completely possible the barista didn’t mean it that way, but definitely don’t blame yourself. You were kind and patient, and your drink is definitely not annoying!

Absolutely not. You can have your drink any way you please, you are the one paying for it. That’s honestly unacceptable to try and guilt trip you about your drink. It’s not your fault they don’t calibrate their machines to pull at the correct time.

I’m sure I’ll get downvoted, but this is wrong. She’s an employee. If she’s not buying, she’s not a customer. She’s costing this store product and labor in return for nothing. It’s a valid question for her to ask, and my advice would be to get something like a cold brew that’s concentrated and take it home to make on your day off then add whatever you’d like to it. That’s what I do. People in the business should understand the metrics and recognize when employees don’t like what other employees are doing, as in this post. No one wants to say it, but there are valid reasons why this store has issues with this process, especially on DT.

No, there’s high key no problem. Your lack of bar skills is not her problem. If my store can push the “3 venti starbucks double shot on ice, 1% milk, add 2 shots, 4 wm lady” every single morning and still keep the flow of drive steady. Why wouldn’t you be able to handle a single 6 shot latte. And it’s ristretto! That shit pours fast as hell. Evaluate the way that you look at partners, because calling her an employee even when she’s not even going to her own store. And saying she’s costing “labor in return for nothing” it’s such horse shit. She’s a partner. SHE EARNS THAT DISCOUNT. SHE EARNS THAT FREE DRINK. I can already tell you’re the type of “”partner””that treats people with partners numbers like shit at the window. Boo hoo you have to do your job. Guess what so do the fucking rest of us. Is it really so much to ask that this girl gets her fucking drink the way she likes it made? Or is the extra 30 seconds of your time so fucking irreplaceable that you’d have to guilt trip her about ordering it. And honestly I could give a shit if another employee is upset about what I order. Guess what it’s your fucking job so either make the fucking drink and get over it, or find a different job. We’re in the business of hospitality not “I’ll do it if I feel like it.” The amount of laziness i see in other partners outside of my store is fucking disturbing.

No. That's fine. I used to have custoemrs that would order Venti 8 LONG SHOT Americano Mistos w/ Heavy Cream. Minimum 4 minutes.

Also you order ristretto which pulls faster than regular and long. They're just under pressure from SM to keep times probably 20 seconds by sounds of it. Certain locations are straight Drip sales so DT times are ridiculously low.

I would take you over half of the customers we get at my store, no joke. You sound so sweet and your drink is an easy one. But even if you had an annoying drink, that doesn’t give them the right to make you feel bad and blame you for “holding up” the line.
(also, when I go to work tomorrow I’m trying your drink! Sounds so good and I’m quite bored of my regular drinks!!)

Thank you! And I hope you like it! When I'm working I love to make myself a triple iced blonde ristretto espresso, 4 pumps chestnut praline, salted cream foam, praline topping grande cup. Give that a try too if you're feeling it :)

So a lot of people here are saying that “that’s an easy drink” and that “there’s been worse drinks” you have to remember that you’re a customer when you aren’t working, and for a partner to be rude to you about your drink choice is a violation of the third place environment. You get your drink, and you never feel bad about it, because you deserve that drink. No one is allowed to be rude to you because you’re a partner.

I also am a partner and my usual non-holiday drink is 6updosed shot iced venti latte. My SM rags on me about the amount of caffeine but said it’s not a crazy complicated drink by any means. It’s not a bar or complicated drink and I’ve definitely taken partner orders that were immensely more labor intensive (thinking back to yesterday’s strawberry frap with 8 mods and cold foam....)

6 shots is kinda annoying but that's not a terrible drink to make. Maybe they were having a bad day.. If it \*really\* bothers you, you could get 3 shots and a smaller drink altogether...
