How to find an appropriate district (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by RunTheWatchOver
Hiiii-

I dunno if anyone can give me some guidance here. I live in Central Florida and we have multiple very busy districts in the area. I love my store, I love working in a high volume environment, but I am hesitant to develop within my district. Are there districts/DMs who are more progressive and open to community engagement more than others? Has anyone experienced something like this during their time with Sbux and moving to a new district? I am not sure if I explained this coherently...

Anyway, thanks!

There may be, but you’ll have to do your due diligence to figure out which ones those are by calling and speaking to their district managers.

However, Starbucks isn’t inclined to let partners transfer just because. Transfers are prompted by moving, or promotions, or a new schedule, etc. You’ll most likely be encouraged to start community outreach efforts in your own district before they’d be willing to transfer you to another one.

Tbh it can go from store to store. If you are a ASM that’s trying to find a more flexible district I would also just look at another store possibly. I have a store that’s less than 10 minutes down the road from me and literally you could set it on fire and no one would know the difference.
