Not an employee but would like feedback from more than the one person I know who works at one. (self.starbucksbaristas)

I like to tip my baristas $1 per drink I order. Is that a good enough method or would you suggest something different?

Honestly you don’t have to tip us. We get a hourly wage. BUT a dollar per drink is really sweet. Especially if the team has been great at serving you. It makes me feel better when I’ve tried really hard and making those connections and customers recognize us with a decent tip.

Once again, do not ever feel obligated to tip us I personally understand that right now times are tough for a lot of people and the closer we are getting to the holidays it can get even tighter. We do however appreciate more having tips on holidays as we are taking time away from our family to serve you.

It’s what I do for bartenders (even though I haven’t been to a bar in years hahaha) so I was like eh, same concept hahaha. I work as a delivery driver so I end up tipping when most people normally wouldn’t like at drive thru or whatever :) I stop in and order dragon drinks for my job about once a week and when I walk in someone asks what the name on my order is and one of the girls always says “it’s Megan” lol. I usually get 4 or 5 of them depending on how many are working that day, so those days I usually leave $5, but when it’s just me or me and the boyfriend I do $1/drink. They totally deserve it at the location I go to. Just wanted to make sure I’m doing right by them. Thanks so much :)

Edit: I completely understand the holiday thing too. I’ve worked in the mall the last like 6 years so had to do thanksgiving and Black Friday. This will be my first year off on thanksgiving in a long time, but I have to work Christmas for the first time ever (I deliver for a family owned Chinese restaurant. They don’t close for Christmas :( )
