Being a barista is fun but I miss being a regular (self.starbucksbaristas)

Being a customer and going into my regular Starbucks and having the baristas greet me by name and offer me new drink recs to try was so fun. When I was a regular at a campus Starbucks I’d always run into my favorite barista and he’d say hi to me. Now that I work at Starbucks it’s different because I always go to my home store so it’s just saying hi to my coworkers and I kinda miss the interaction of being a customer

my favorite thing to do on a day off is (try to) visit a starbucks ive never been to before/rarely go to, even if it’s 5 mins away. i get to see new faces, connect with new partners, and usually they still treat you like an average customer after you give your numbers, generally even a bit nicer.
