Am I the only one that feels this way? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Forgive me if this post is out of line or not allowed in some way!

For background I’m a partner outside of the US. In my country, we’re under really strict covid restrictions but yet we’re still open for customers to come in and get their drinks to go, as well as mobile order and UberEats.

Every weekend we have been completely slammed. Like line out the door for hours. It’s like no one cares that we’re in the middle of a pandemic and supposed to be in lockdown. We’ve been bringing in upwards of 2k in sales, sometimes nearly 3k. Which under normal circumstances for our store would be quite an achievement. The other partners at my store think is this wonderful and something to be proud of. If we weren’t in a pandemic I would agree. But I can’t help but feel like this isn’t something to be proud of and in a way it feels like a failure.

Tldr; Am I the only one that thinks high sales volume isn’t something to be proud of right now? And that it seems like we’re not doing our part to keep the public safe?

it’s like this at my store too, especially as stores around us are closing because they’re getting hit by COVID. i feel like its just a matter of time before mine is closed too.

My store is the exact same way. Only, where my store is in the US we only have a “curfew” and only grab and go orders, with drive thru of course. My SM is proud of our sales the last two weeks but it’s literally only because we’re the only store open in our district lol. And we already have three partners in quarantine (they didn’t test positive, but came in contact with people who did and my SM wanted to be safe over a covid outbreak) so we might be next who knows 🤷‍♀️
