Reminder that no matter what managers say, until federal/state mandates, AND WRITTEN STARBUCKS POLICIES change YOU ARE ALLOWED TO ENFORCE MASKS.(self.starbucksbaristas)

**IF YOU GET WRITTEN UP, DO NOT SIGN IT.** As per the last communications from Kevin, we still have rights to report masks, and I know my state it is a requirement for us to require masks from customers. ANY MANAGERS (DM OR STORE) TELLING YOU OTHERWISE SHOULD BE REPORTED TO EVERYONE YOU CAN REPORT THEM TO! State, Starbucks EOC, OSHA, etc.

Just a quick note, signing the write up has no effect on whether it counts against you or not. It’s only an acknowledgement that you received the write up in question.

And if anyone tries to stop you, document their attempt to stop you - for your reporting and potentially for your unemployment claim.

Are there really stores that don’t allow partners wearing masks? Corporate policy, in writing, is to require masks for partners and customers alike...

I think the bigger issue is with customers. Must complaints from baristas I've seen have been about managers not allowing baristas to tell customers to put on a mask

Most states have a hotline to report violations.
Don't freak out on people and be professional but yes, absolutely enforce safety. If someone tries to stick up for corporate's desire to crowd our workplaces during this global pandemic, they are wrong. You have rights.
If anyone is in Kansas and you need the hotline number for reporting violations, let me know.
YOU HAVE RIGHTS. Don't forget it!

Everyone can google “Starbucks prc” and the first option to be a link to all the hotlines parents can call about anything! From harassment to payroll.

I don't trust corporate to back us up on this stuff. They're encouraging it around me. They're not on our side.

It’s different kind of HR; it’s designed for partners. I’ve seen plenty of people have success with them; including horrible SMs. Give it a try before you count them out :)

Our DM removed a floor mat behind the counter 3 weeks ago beneath cold bar and within 2 days, a partner fell and broke her arm. She removed it because she said she didn't like the way it looked.
2 days later another barista fell there. The same day, our SM fell in the same spot. 3 of us called the prc the following week and asked if they could intervene as our SM feels stuck between her boss and her staff.
Nothing has happened. Our DM has visited twice and although she knows very well what happened, she said nothing to the partner wearing a cast. She wasn't even sympathetic.
She's visiting again tomorrow. We're doing Clean Play right now. We're moving mats around and putting one back in the wet spot where people keep falling.
If she moves it again, I'll call her boss. I know her boss. I'm partner #1961... and I close 4 nights a week at the highest volume store in our district. I'm not worried about my job but this is wrong. The partner who fell has consulted a lawyer. He advised her to avoid talking to hr again. They'd just try to talk her out of legal action. She gave them a chance to act.
Is this anecdotal? Yes. Is it an example of our corporate hr refusing to help us feel safe? Yes. Our store is profitable. They don't care about doing the right thing.

That’s why I recently quit. My DM told me we aren’t allowed to refuse service to customers who will not wear a mask in the cafe.
