I left my store to a target for like a month since I found a better job. I will say the biggest change is the sheer amount of cleanliness that you must abide by at Tarbucks vs a typical store. The health regulations are MUCH higher and you have to constantly clean, make sure things are cooked properly, products are expired out properly, and everything is just a lot more regulated. Also you have to be a boss at multitasking since you will most of the time unless you’re a weekend partner, will be running the register and then making the drink you just rang up.

I think it really depends on the location. I love my store so much! We do have more cleaning to do but it’s less guest so it’s a give and take. I get more time to focus on task. It’s not super hard stuff, just making sure everything is generally clean. I have more regulars who like to take and know you personally. Target gives you a 15 min break for every two hours of work and 30 min before your fifth hour. They are pretty nice and generally I like all my coworkers!

I left my stand alone store in June because I was fed up with Starbucks’ response to COVID. Never thought I’d step foot in a Tarbucks but here I am. I get paid more than when I was shift doing less, occasional bonuses from Target and I feel more like a human than just another number. We’re going through restructuring due to very immature high school baristas but once we finish cleaning house, I think it’ll be even better! Still some rude customers and teenagers but overall lot less emotional customer trauma. Definitely depends on the Target you’re at and who the team lead is, so I would definitely ask questions about that. Good luck!
