Rehire status? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by hannahanjuna
I’ve recently have been trying to attempt to get back into the work force after nearly 2.5 years of raising my daughter. My background and all I know is coffee. I worked for Starbucks in 2016 when I was 22, I was trying to make it on my own for the first time and didn’t have a vehicle while employed as a partner. I still managed to show up to my shift. I was a barista trainer and had been trained for shift. My manager was not the greatest. In fact she was honestly quite two faced and stirred the pot in our store. I had to transfer shops due to a move and some sort of miscommunication happened and I didn’t have a working phone but my manager had up and out right fired me (saying I wasn’t showing up to my shifts) but I had called the store and they said I wasn’t on the roster yet. I was heartbroken and very confused. I had tried to re apply at a license store and they did some sort of communication with my old manager and never heard back. SO is it possible to never get rehired due to an old manager? I don’t think it’s quite fair for someone that somewhat had a personal vendetta against me after I told her I needed to transfer to outright make me unrehireable for any future employment through Starbucks. Has anyone had any similar experiences and can offer advice?
