This is actually regarding my wife but we share accounts. She is a 13 year partner who got pregnant in the beginning of April. With Covid going on and some hyperemesis gravidarum complications she decided to go on a medical accomodation over the last few months. She tried to use her coffee break but they ended coffee breaks over covid. She tried to go on the covid leave but when they first asked about them she had said no I want to work. And then only a few days after the deadline decided that working through covid combined with the Hyperemesis gravidarum was too much, but by then the covid leaves were done with. So the only option left was an accommodation. My question is does the accommodation no longer make her eligible for maternity pay? They say you need 20 hours a week to get it, which she absolutely had...before the accommodation. Like I said she is a 13 going on 14 year partner, and has certainly earned herself a maternity leave regardless of taking a few months off for health reasons, but with the way Starbucks is treating employees during Covid I wouldn’t put anything past them.

Anybody have specific knowledge about maternity leave pay following a medical accommodation?
