Shout out to the partner with covid who came through our drive through today!(self.starbucksbaristas)

That was so sweet of you to come through our drive while actively diagnosed with covid and not tell anyone as if a partner from this store wouldn’t recognize you 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🤗🤗🥰🥰

Report them to their SM and your DM.
We had partners come in that were supposed to be quarantined multiple times.

Once my SM found out she asked her name and did the handoff for me because she’s an ANGEL! I’m assuming she’s going to look into it

In some areas, what they’ve done now is possibly criminal. Also, this is completely valid ground for termination without unemployment.

I’m pretty sure it’s a fireable offense, just like working with symptoms and lying about it or not doing he covid coach is a fireable offense right now.
SluttyHufflepuff21 points2y ago
Waaaaait. Not doing Covid Coach is fireable?? For whom; the shift or the employee??
G37_is_numberletter10 points2y ago
Everyone is expected to do the Covid coach, so I’m guessing it doesn’t matter if you’re a shift or a barista.
vanilladoubleshot6 points2y ago
There’s no way for a shift to verify if someone did the covid coach or not. we’re supposed to ask you and if you lie, how are we supposed to know? “Everyone is grown and should be held accountable for their own actions.” At least that’s how my new manager explained it to us. Lol.
dalenakitty3 points2y ago
I'm not sure about the barista but definitely the shift. We had it happen in our district to someone. My DM went to a store and got exposed because they weren't doing the covid coach. My manager told us that it's the shifts on the line if we don't verify everyone properly. Don't know if this is true for every store but it happened in my district.

Not to mention, most health departments now make it so that food permit holders that have symptoms shouldn’t work in the first place. Doing so can result in penalties that are currently unspecified. Losing the permit would not be out of the question.

Yeah another store in the city! She came through with partner numbers but someone recognized her and said she just got diagnosed with covid at another store. Idk how she knew but she was sure of it! I guess she spends time at that store or has friends who work there
nicathor35 points2y ago
It would probably take corporate less than 5 minutes to make an algorithm that automatically flags a partner who uses their numbers while on mandatory quarantine too

Excellent point

Be safe! I’m in a licensed store and I’m happy in my little corner just making drinks all day. But I share a break room with the rest of the employees in a big box store. Half of the guys I see don’t wash their hands in restroom (including a team lead) and then go fist bump their bro. We get a text when someone test positive and there’s been 6 in 7 days.
kreborn173 points2y ago
Same here. Me and another coworker tested positive earlier this month and quarantined.
Pheebers71316 points2y ago
Ok but low key can we get an update of anything happens?
official_koda_15 points2y ago
That’s ridiculous. Hope she gets fired.
midg-ee8 points2y ago
Please report this to your GM, that’s super not ok. And if they’re willing to come to a starbucks it’s likely they’re going other places too.
They need to learn to take Covid seriously. Maybe a job loss will do that.
chinfox7 points2y ago
try being exposed by your own sm 😎
Js_On_My_Yeet7 points2y ago
You'd think all partners would use their brain at this point during 2020. I would suggest getting tested and possibly closing temporarily since y'all been exposed. Very irresponsible from that partner. I hope y'all are ok!
mattwillwake2 points2y ago
Yeah, a partner tested positive at my store last week and is already scheduled to work 8 days after getting their test results. So much for a “two-week quarantine.” This company doesn’t care about us.
yikesyyokeys3 points2y ago
I thought the policy (at least in my area) was two weeks from exposure/first symptom not two weeks from a positive test result.
Or 24/48 (can't remember) hours after last symptom if you're still sick after 14 days.
That's what my SM and local public health told me when I had to isolate.
Definitely agree the company doesn't care about us though :(
Sgeatan5 points2y ago
Also if they’re on covid leave and come to a store & use their numbers they’re gonna get fired lol.
