why do customers walk in 5 minutes before they have to be at their job, see the line of 15 people waiting for orders, order 5-6 drinks (and say it’s okay that we’re running 15-20 minutes behind because there’s only three of us working and don’t mind waiting) only to get mad because “i have to be at work in 5 minutes so can u just put my order ahead of everyone else’s!!’

no??? we told you there was a 20 minute wait...”well i didn’t think it was true”

this job is EXHAUSTING sometimes 🥴

if you’re in a rush to get to work you probably shouldn’t be stopping at starbucks especially if it’s packed. unless your boss is fine with you showing up late 🤷‍♀️

We always have that issue at my store, Saturdays especially. We’re a lobby only mall store (outside the mall) and open an hour before the mall.

I had someone come in at open (she mobile ordered, AT OPEN) and was pissed I didn’t have her stuff ready. Like what??? You’re not the only person in the store (lobby was packed) and you’re not the only one who mobile ordered at open! Oh, and there’s only 2 of us working anyway.

Sometimes I wish I could tell a customer that bugging me or my coworkers about the wait isn't going to speed things up and it'll actually slow us down cause you're taking someone from their duty to listen to you whine with no solution.

Customer here: I have seen this crap first hand and all y'all have more patience than I could muster.

Use the app if you're running late.

Having the same problem at our store with running 15-20 and sometimes up to 30 minutes behind. They are just oblivious. They have very obviously never worked in the type of on demand production that we have, and don't understand that their just is a limit to how fast we can produce. The big one I also get is that they don't understand that they are significantly increasing wait time every time they stop me to talk. I just had to stop caring about always making a good impression and being super nice. I just want to scream sometimes about the random person coming up and asking where they are in line and when I say, I don't know, I haven't pulled your sticker so you are at the very least 15 minutes out, they want me to stop and go process them a refund. No. Call corporate.

i had a man harass me about his drink when there were probably still a good 20 stickers in front of his and he just wouldn’t stop. i was being nice, saying”i’m so sorry for your wait but we’re working on it as fast as we can!” because i genuinely feel bad making people wait 20-30 minutes especially for one drink. he wouldn’t stop and eventually i snapped and told him that we were extremely short staff and that we are getting crushed by mobile orders and that it isn’t fair to other customers to make his drinks when most of them got there before him 🤷‍♀️ he stopped bothering me after that because he realized i wouldn’t give in and pull 20 stickers that’ll get lost and cause more problems
