Lyra only giving 12 sessions?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by tang0foxtr0t
Hi everyone, I just got a message from my therapist on Lyra saying she got an alert about the number of sessions I have left and that most people get 12. She didn't tell me how many it said I had but I just finished my 8th session. Everything I can find says that all partners, no matter if they're part-time or full-time, no matter how many hours they get, get 20 free sessions. Has anyone else run into this problem? She suggested I call the benefits/resource center to ask but I have major phone anxiety so I'd rather not. Just wondering what other peoples' experiences have been with number of sessions.

Starbucks benefit for Lyra is supposed to be 20 sessions. From my experience, I know I’ll likely have 20 sessions because I’m on like session 13 or 14. As far as contacting them by phone, since you might have to make sure you’re good to go, I’d prepare a small script of what you need to say and ask. That might help with your anxiety a bit. Good luck!

I just started in October and my lyra counselor was firm in telling me that while sbux offers 20/ year, it's only 6 to start and that the counselor had to verify the "need" in order to expand the benefit to 20. I was flabbergasted bcs none of the somewhat hard to find benefits info suggested this. But I did not like the session and canceled my future sessions, so I did not follow through

She just got back to me and confirmed it’s 20, and was just an error on their end which I’m thankful for because I really like her. Hope you can find the help you’re looking for. :)

Maybe I had a bad apple bcs she definitely used up 15 of our 45 minute session to tell me the rules and how she wasn't a therapist, etc. I had a well off recently, and that helped more than anything!

That’s... very odd? Weird. But glad you’re doing good!
