ASU Reimbursement (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by spinachwiz
Apologies if this isn't the right subreddit, but is anyone enrolled in ASU through starbs? Just wondering if startbucks reimburses tuition in full, because if they don't I'm in for a stressful month lol

I’m an ASU student. You get reimbursed on your paycheck, after every semester, for the full amount of tuition that wasn’t already covered by grants. You don’t get reimbursed for books, equipment, and special class fees (like lab fees).

A good option if you qualify is to take out federal loans, which have low interest rates and no required payments until after you graduate. (Subsidized loans are the best since you won’t even accrue interest while you’re in school.) You can use your reimbursements to pay back the loans, so it’s very low risk and can help build your credit history.

Not just 42%?

The 42% is a grant that Starbucks pays up front, and then you get reimbursed for the rest at the end. So for example if your tuition one semester was $10,000, Starbucks would pay $4200 directly to your ASU account, then let's say you also get a $3000 Pell grant from the federal govt. Then you only have to pay ASU $2800. At the end of the semester, Starbucks reimburses you the $2800. If you take out a loan to cover the $2800, Starbucks will still reimburse you $2800. (You'll always have some non-reimbursable charges but that's the basic idea.)

This link has a lot of info about the Starbucks ASU program. If you scroll down a bit, it has a whole breakdown of the reimbursement
