FYI: You CAN do something about Covid-19: 'Ethics and Compliance' (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by eldorel
I've seen a handful of people on here and other places complaining about issues with covid-19 safety.

Partners have posted complaints ranging everywhere from SMs and DMs stopping people from enforcing mask requirements, allowing customers to violate social distance and store occupancy limits, all the way to forcing partners to come in to work with fevers and while waiting on covid tests...

You CAN do something about this.

In the partner portal, there's a separate section for "$1", with a dedicated, 24/7, contact number for you to submit anonymous (or not) complaints to corporate via a third party company.

If you don't want them to know who you are, just don't tell them. Corporate doesn't get the call logs, the recording, or access to the phone number that called.

Not asking customers to leave for refusing to follow mask mandates IS a compliance issue.
Not informing Partners that another team member may have been exposed and to go tested is a compliance issue.
Forcing partners to work when they *might* be sick is a compliance issue.

LOOK IT UP.
CALL IT IN.

Additionally, You can file a $1 if you feel that your management has put you in direct danger by withholding information or refusing to enforce mask orders.

If no one complains, nothing improves.
Speak up.

Not only can you, you absolutely should! I’m a ASM in Starbucks Canada, and we’ve literally in the last month had a call with a woman from ethics and compliance to teach us how to do this exact same thing to keep the people around us accountable as well. It’s our job to keep ourselves, our teams, and our customers safe, and if your management isn’t doing this please please consider calling. We just shut down seating in all stores where I am to make sure we are keeping people safe on top of mandatory masks, Starbucks wants to be seen as a company that is responsible in the face of a pandemic, so let’s hold them to that.
