Wear a fucking mask! It’s so simple, we’ve got customers and partners who don’t take it t serious and it drives me insane! Also! As a barista are we not required to learn and do all procedures I.e. making drinks, doing drive thru, food, CS. You should be able to do all of it correct? Maybe I’m nuts but we have partners who are constantly put in the same places and I know can’t work bar. And I’m talking 12 year employees and someone whose been there as long as I have (1.5 years). It wouldn’t bother me but the 12 year person makes way more than me and the person whose been here as long makes the same as me! I run circles around both of them and I’m so ready for change! What the actual fuck.

Partners should know all areas, but not all partners excel at all areas. For example, I’m fantastic at DT - decent at bar - meh at warming - terrible at CS. Mostly because I’m always on bar or dt is why I’m good at it but I rarely do CS so when I CS I’m slow

I am so tired of being the Mask Police. I getcha.

My store usually has a very sweet Navy vet who works for Starbucks because he needs insurance (he's on COVID leave because he's high risk) who cannot work bar. He is slow, he doesn't remember the drink recipes, he's just no good. But he's excellent at register, will brew coffees so the CS can do everything else, and is superb at customer connections. I believe he's also worked for Starbucks for 5-10 years.

I get you on being frustrated, but you would do better to focus on your own career than on others'. Their paths are theirs. Yours is the only thing you have control over.
