Working at an Albertson's Starbucks (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Jumpinlove
Hi! I recently got hired to work at a Starbucks inside an Albertson. Can anyone please share their wisdom and tips on how to survive and what to expect?

I asked the woman who is the temp hiring manager about free drinks, she said they don't do that here. It got a laugh out of both of us, but thats disappointing to know.

Licensed stores (Albertsons, Target, etc) have way less benefits and perks than corporate or stand alone Starbucks. Honestly a licensed store is like a baby Starbucks with less traffic, less staffing, and outdated machines. Drinks get made wrong because people never get trained right. I personally avoid them, but that being said many people I know who once worked at a target Starbucks or another licensed store liked it as a starter before going to a corporate store. They said it was a good way to ease into it before going to a busy store. Just do you, stay happy (I avoid them because everyone seems so annoyed that there’s a customer) and try your best with what you’re given. Be true to yourself and be eager to learn and you’ll do great. You’ll really only have busy days on red cup launch day and if your store has promos, maybe holidays too. Being in So Cal, I’ve only ever waited in line at a licensed store once and it was red cup launch day. You’ll do good, but if you ever want to switch to a corporate store I’d recommend it for the benefits. Licensed usually pays more but corporate is better imo
