someone today ordered a pike in our cafe, i asked him for cream and sugar, he said no... tried to hand it off and he said, can you put a splash of cream?.... sure dude. So i go to pour out a small amount out, because ya know... I am adding cream. I may not be a physicist, but I know how volume works in hot coffee cups. Too much coffee in cup= big owie and big messy.

Dude burning yourself is the worst and it’s something customers really don’t think applied to us as baristas. I used to have a customer who would always comes through for a venti cup of hot water and he never wanted a sleeve. I would usually put one so we wouldn’t burn ourselves through the cup and he would comment like “I said no sleeve” and I’d be all “yeah this one is just so we don’t burn ourselves but you can take it off if you want to” like super nice and all. After that he would usually just look at me for a second and then leave with the sleeve still on 🤷🏼♀️
