Your own store getting your drink wrong (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by AdamAce3
This is so infuriating and embarrassing. My store is my local Starbucks that my whole family goes to regularly. Somehow, they almost always manage to get atleast one of our drinks wrong. Today, it was mine. I ordered a simple chestnut praline latte with oat milk but still add whip. I got a half full chestnut praline latte with no toppings. Even worse, my sister ordered egg bites with sriracha (explicitly on the sticker) and was not include in the order. Something always happens every time. My sister, a 8 year Starbucks vet, hates going to my store because of this. I don’t know how to deal with constant incorrect orders. Advice? I don’t want to get anyone in trouble and I coach as much as I can, but...

my local Starbucks always fucks up my drink so I try to add things that would guide them to make my drink better lol ex. I order green tea lemonade sweetened and add raspberry but when I do this they forget the liquid cane and just put raspberry so if im getting a Venti ill add 4 pumps sweetener and 2 pumps raspberry that way both the liquid cane comes out on the sticker and the raspberry. for your chestnut praline latte you could ask for light whip that way its on the sticker and they'll actually add the whip because some people just assume that if its non-dairy milk then they won't add whip because it has dairy.

but you should be open with your coworkers first if its really a problem before taking it to management

My sticker literally says “add whip” but I got no whip, no topping, and half full. The half full is probably that they over foamed the latte or batched the milk and didn’t care to steam more. It’s just embarrassing. Like I can live without the topping and whip, but when my family gets their drinks wrong at MY store. Ugh

You work there, talk to your coworkers. It’s not hard.

Your store as in you work there? If so, how often does your receive remakes and complaints while you’re working? If it’s just as often as you’re describing, then you should talk to your shift/manager about what can improve quality and standards. Maybe the standards are not being enforced enough and there is too much variant on drinks.

All in all, with Starbucks’ Barista Promise, I think we should all take a step back and realize that it’s just coffee and we can always get our drinks remade. If it’s a continuous problem, yes, that’s frustrating but it’s not the end of the world.

Oof that is frustrating. If you feel comfortable doing so --& I understand that working partners do not often make it comfortable for partner/customers-- have them correct the order while you're there! Let them know you've asked for sriracha! Request they add the whip & toppings, as per your order. It is unfortunate that we will often get a huffy response but *shrug* -- I have a hard time dealing with my coworkers when they get huffy over our own mistakes. We should not be making the situation so uncomfortable for other people-- baristas when we're the customer & customers when we're the baristas.
Godspeed.
