Green Bean Question (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by maizeandblue_2020
Hi! Green bean here :) I normally wear an Apple Watch but obviously have to take it off at work. I would love to still be able to get my steps and progress towards my move goal counted bc rn my watch thinks I’m being super lazy lol. Does anyone have experience still being able to track movement on your Apple Watch without being able to wear it? I’m a little hesitant to put it in my jean or apron pockets for fear of it getting broken. Thank you!!

hey! i know partners who hook it on their apron neck straps and they still get their steps in :) just be sure to check with your store manager!

I’ve been told this is against dress code, so I just put mine in my back pocket

You could always get a larger wristband and put it on your ankle. I am not sure how that would interfere (if any) with Apple's motion detector, though.

I wear my Apple Watch? Is this not allowed?

You’re not allowed to wear anything on your hands except a simple ring (like a wedding band) because of the bacteria it could have on it

I used to put just the watch face (so without the straps) in my pocket and it would still count steps but for some reason it stopped working so I haven’t tried it recently

i would put it on your apron’s neck strap
