"Someone zip tied the tables!" (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by aspen_silence
So this happened the other day and I completely forgot about it until my SO and I were talking about customers not respecting business rules (he works for a different food vendor). Hopefully this will make some of you smile.

So the other day I was the shift in charge and was taking orders at the register. We were running a 2 play so my SM was on the floor giving us a hand. As SM was making fresh Pike and I was taking orders, my barista on bar had a gentleman come up to her super concerned. I was told after the fact but the conversation went something like this:

Man "can I have some scissors?"

Partner "I'm sorry, I cant give you those for safety reasons, what do you need them for?"

Man "Someones zip tied the chairs together!"

Partner "Well sir, the cafe is closed due to Covid."

Man "So I can't study? I just want to study!"

Partner "I apologize sorry but like I said, the cafe is closed"

Guy just walked away flabbergasted. SM asked the partner what the guy wanted so she gave him the run down. He looked at me and her and said "there's a sign on the door that says so" before walking into the back to laugh his head off.

A woman and her “elderly” mom came in our mallbucks and were asking about where they could sit and told them unfortunately our lobby seating is closed right now and she asks well can I sit in the chairs in the mall? I told her it wasn’t up to me, I don’t work for mall security lmao

my favorite thing is seeing people try and pull out the chairs to sit down
