Looks like the lights are back on inside...
MonstrousGiggling117 points2y ago
That's just the glow from the flames of Hell. Didn't you know Starbucks are built over portals to hell? That's why our coffee is so over-roasted.
eat-reddit-tv10 points2y ago
LMAO
Ananamoose113 points2y ago
Lol when I worked at one I used to say it was built on a vortex of evil because the manager was evil, the customers were evil and so were my coworkers. One of the worst jobs I ever had but it did give me the push to go back to college and finish my degree. I still won't set foot inside one unless absolutely necessary though.

Very true. Very rarely, though, there's no other option, as crazy as that sounds.
DivineFlamingo1 points2y ago
You know what it means when you think everyone around you is an asshole?
Ananamoose111 points2y ago
Also, not like you care, but this was my first job out of high school, I was in an extremely controlling/abusive relationship and had very low self esteem and insecurity issues. I mostly kept to myself at work and was constantly berated by the manager of the store for things not my fault. After 8 months of verbal and emotional abuse by him, customers and coworkers, I quit. Finished my shift, never went back. All my other food service jobs were much better so no, I'm not the asshole, but you might be for making assumptions about my story.
Ananamoose111 points2y ago
You know that saying "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all?"
saucymeatbuns3 points2y ago
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
HailCommand-r-Zee2 points2y ago
Yes, Elder Scrolls Oblivion got their inspiration from Starbucks.
sunsetair2 points2y ago
Most awful coffee. The only reason people go there (including me) because of convenience like McDonald's. They are everywhere
dinkleberries_suck2 points2y ago
My parents only get it on a road trip they will only take a couple sips I just don’t get it because based on their faces I would rather drink coffe from a hobo I like mine with cinnamon
spankygrrl1 points2y ago
Since you were short, I’ll lend you some spares:
. . , . .
MONSEIUR_BIGFOOT1 points2y ago
I like my hobos with cinnamon too.
Rat-beard1 points2y ago
You good talk
BlakBeret1 points2y ago
I read somewhere that it's all over roasted because they source from so many places they have to roast them that much to keep the "flavor" consistent across them all.
pastafarianjon1 points2y ago
As a Satanist, can confirm. I’m hailing Satan with every coffee.

meloscav66 points2y ago
Damn y’all actually get to go home when the power goes out? And *not* sit and wait to see if the power comes back?
SunflowerTeaTime39 points2y ago
They made us go to the store down the way (because SURELY our customers would flock to the other store since we were closed) and that made them super over staffed so we just crammed on the floor staring at each-other! Hahaha
laurenredz37 points2y ago
Lmaoo such a Starbucks move, to not send you home but just move you to another store
saturnsnephew3 points2y ago
Hey man, still getting paid.
laurenredz1 points2y ago
Trueee
crowamonghens1 points2y ago
Sorta like how the Catholic church deals with pedo priests
oversoakedoreo12 points2y ago
We had a DM that would take his sweet time to get back to us if we should go home or not(summer time)One time we waited nearly an hour with customers getting mad we wouldn't open the doors while we're sweating indoors waiting to be sent free. Then out of nowhere power comes back on. . .
fuckthisicestorm1 points2y ago
Are you sure that wasn’t just a nightmare you had cuz I’ve had that same one 🤢
Haunting-Affect-59562 points2y ago
We have to get out the "power outage kit" with calculators and write receipts by hand, while wearing battery powered headlamps.
to_shy_to_ask2 points2y ago
This one time, I worked for a fast food place one summer, and the city was doing some major construction next to the food mall I worked at, and the power cut off. The city workers told us that the power may be off all day, so our manager told us to move all the food from the fridge to the freezer (to make it last longer I suppose) it took us about an hour and a half but we were almost done, and then the power switched back on! The manager said we could go home still, so as we were walking out, she said “oh... hey guys... so I called the manager just to tell him the funny story... and... well he wants us to open back up if we have power”
We were pissed. Especially only having 2 hours left in the shift.

This is such a wholesome and iconic picture. 🥺
tamaotaki_0122 points2y ago
When your store floods for 6 hours and nobody cares and nobody gets to go home and it’s just chaos ✨✨
eat-reddit-tv9 points2y ago
^what
Your store flooded? That’s so dangerous!
tamaotaki_015 points2y ago
You would think right??
mr-potatohead_8 points2y ago
Lmao. Our drains flood like once a month and we just wade through the milk water 😂😭🤮 what a fucking nightmare.
ACleverDoggo10 points2y ago
Call the health department on yourselves so it's a documented issue. If it's something that can get you shut down, I guarantee someone will give enough of a fuck to get it fixed, rather than lose money to a temporary closure.
yoboiyoo3 points2y ago
"Milk water " is that what they call that now 💦💩
RexFlex42017 points2y ago
I wish, my stores power went out but we stayed open and handed out drinks for free for "customer inconvenience". Granted not espresso (machines were powered down) but refreshers, teas, and brewed coffees were all fair game. Granted, the power came back on like 15/20 min later but i really wanted to go home😤🤣

Happy for you 😭❤️

This sparks joy in my cold, hard heart.
sandycat5553 points2y ago
Ha, our store has a generator. Gotta love living in a hurricane-prone barrier island.
ACleverDoggo3 points2y ago
I didn't know there were Starbucks on the Outer Banks 👀
sandycat5553 points2y ago
Nope I'm in Florida. The locals forget this is a barrier island because it has a causeway, but the winds of the Atlantic don't forget.
ih8yogurt3 points2y ago
Same here on Long Island
Papichurro420691 points2y ago
New Smyrna?

Snow caused a powee outage? Ha! Not in BUFFALO
