I’m not the neatest barista. Messes happen. But I swear some of the people around me are just throwing shit as far as they can while making drinks. The counters feel like swamps

I'm messy on bar, but I try to make up for it by wiping down counters for the bar people when I'm in other positions 😬

This is one of my biggest pet peeves, just do a quick wipe down every few drinks! I get so many customer complaints that the bar looks dirty. The worst is when they leave everything out at the end and the bar’s just covered with half full blenders, pitchers, and milk jugs while they’re standing around talking to each other. By the time the next rush starts it’s still dirty.

Also, put your milks away!

I'm def a messy bar person, but it kills me when I start a shift and inherit a messy bar from the previous barista and get laughed at for having a messy bar 'like always'. Like brah, I've been here 5 seconds!

Not me literally shrieking when I wipe down the counters as a not-busy cafe/mobile bar & immediately see a mess re-form where my sm is doing drive bar!!

I’m a literal disaster on bar. But you better believe the second I have even a few seconds to breathe, I will be wiping the bar (and espresso machine) down until it sparkles

Yup..not even kidding about that. I've said this before about a milk wand not being clean, but please for the love of God, maintain and clean thoroughly. It's understandable things get messy when it's rush hour, but you gotta clean up when things quiet down. Now if it's your time to go, after the rush ends, tell your supervisor about the mess and they'll either tell you to clean up anyway and clock out or probably let CS handle that.
