10 bags of tea (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by sadunfair
I’m not a current barista but did my time and even got a family member into the fold. I was a customer for this story but felt the pain. My friend wanted a coffee so she was standing in line and this older lady was like “do you mind standing INSIDE the circle?” One foot in the circle other foot 3/4 in the circle. So when the line moved up the lady ran up to the counter standing approximately 12 inches from the person next to her at the register and I told my friend “I think you can go to the next circle now” and the woman turned around and yelled at her (not me) “you might think this is funny but when you’re older covid is really dangerous and can put your life in danger!”

The woman then proceeds to tell the barista that she wants 10 bags of tea which she then tells the barista should be 20¢ each and 10 cups and 10 lids and 10 sleeves. And a drink caddy.

So you’re cheap af and you are putting your life in danger for your 2$ haul? Ok makes total sense.

lmfao nah. the 20 cent charge is if you’re adding a tea bag to another drink. she should’ve been charged for 5 grande teas. that way it is charging her for the cups, lids, and labor. the only thing missing is hot water.. which is free anyways.

oh yeah, for sure. even if it was correct to charge only 20 cents, i would charge for a grande tea out of straight pettiness if she’s gonna act like that

How do you do this on POS, it’s been stumping me (ie the extra bags)

how do you charge for extra bags? under the tea tab there’s a button that says “add tea bag” or something similar. a customer i know often gets a mint tea bag in her white hot chocolate, so that is how we charge for it.
