I used to load those shots with ice and I’d measure out 4oz of milk. If 4 is the max before charging then to me that means Ex Soy is 4oz. Regular would be like 2oz. So half a short cup it is. I die on that hill

kindly explain that the standard for extra soy is a max of 4 ounces, and if they’d like more you’d recommend a latte in the future! 🥰 id also personally give them the extra soy just that time just to maybe soften the blow of my comment.

so, i think you’d shake the shots in the shaker with ice but then strain the ice when pouring it into the cup. usually you’d pour the shots/ice (and whatever sweetener is inside) into the cup and top off with milk

That’s a ~~tall~~ venti order (very bad pun).
The foam dissolves half the time on a regular iced one (no one teaches newbies this drink unless they’re regularly ordered, I only know how to make them because I obsessively drink them and I don’t wanna burden someone else with making it, and I know the mileage varies a lot because it’s an annoying drink to make. If you don’t shake vigorously enough you won’t get foam, and I’ve also found that if the shots sit on top, there’s less foam anyways because your ice melts too fast from the shots. It doesn’t melt from the bottom as much)

We have a regular (who got banned from other stores in our district) who gets a grande iced chai in a venti cup with 8 pumps chai, extra ice and extra milk and gets mad and really bitchy when we tell her next time we have to charge her for a venti
Honestly if I ever get to be on register when she orders I’m just gonna type it in as a venti and kill her with kindness.
She’s already cursed out most of the partners in my store when they were giving her respect and customer service.

I don’t because that’s how I order lol. It’s really though because I want a cup full of ice and this is the best way to get it (and not pay an absurd amount by ordering the drink with extra ice) lol. I will say, I used to roll my eyes at this stuff though because I thought they were cheating the system, then I realized it actually tastes better this way and I get all my ice! I think it’s all about perspective. I now go into it thinking this is just how they prefer it and not that they are intending to cheat the system. Now I still can’t get that positive spin on the drink with no ice and a cup of ice. I know people say it’s so their drink doesn’t get watered down so that’s the positive spin, but I still feel like they are just cheating the system 🤷🏼♀️

Imo the difference is intention.
Iced espresso with a little milk (even 4 oz-idk how people consistently measure the oz? With what?) doesn’t taste like an iced latte. Just wanting a milky iced espresso isn’t the same as trying to hack a latte. People who also try to hack a latte will in general be nastier when they get a milky iced espresso back. It’s the entitlement and attitude that’s the problem.
For your second part - Sometimes I would get ice on the side if I wanted to save my drink for the next day (upcoming snowstorm, just can’t get to the bux the next day) and never intended to get more drink - the proportions are off. I’ve even had to ask for less drink. For any kind of latte or flat white It becomes too milky unless you get an extra shot. Although people have ordered breve lattes and pink drinks...and it’s not really any good the next day, it’s more to prevent a caffeine headache if you don’t have decent drip/a machine at home
