I like to refer to the drains as the "snack cubby" since it contains so many yummy fruit pieces and choccy chips.

My SM has us clean these 2-3x a day so ours are never horrible lol but I felt the pain before when people only cleaned it when they felt like it

I really think professional cleaners should clean those things. There’s no way a barista with blue spray and hot water can get those things as clean as they should be. Also I just worked on bar today you really think I have the energy or even the desire to clean those things ???

Nothing makes my skin crawl more than the wet fruit inclusions all in a clump 🤢

Give mid/close the same amount of staffing as morning crew and we'll be able to do that no problem 🙃

I find it very interesting to hear how every store cleans their drains. Per my training on opening duties - Every morning I clean mine as part of morning tasks, spray each with bathroom cleaner, let them sit for a minute, then go through and scrub them with a dedicated "drain" (toilet) brush and hot water.

I love cleaning drains so much. Don’t know why but seeing all the gunk go and the sine of a scrubbed drain is too good.

When out Refresher sink get clogged with all the fruit pieces and lovely colors, we call it jungle juice.

i randomly worked a day i normally do not a few weeks ago, and like how our store works i typically do not run a shift where drains are done because it’s reserved for morning crew and not weekends because we simply are too busy. our RM was coming in the next day so i cleaned the drains more than i think they had ever been cleaned and i pulled out a clump of hair that was like a HUGE ball and i showed it to my manager and he was disgusted and since then drains have been kept up lol.

The ones under bar are okayish. It’s the one under the back sink that is nasty af.

I literally pulled out the drain brush the first time and asked my coworker if it was normal for there to be garden soil coming out of the pipe. It was THATS DIRTY

I dropped a whole ass sponge down the open drain beneath the bar. Now if you don’t know, the pipe makes an L shape, so I could get the sponge. It was. Super gross. As I put my arm down, it was slimy (I had gloves on but they were not long enough) and gross and disgusting. I pulled the sponge out and ended up crying just from how fucking gross it was and how disgusting it felt on my arm skin.
