I’m a delivery driver. Whenever I order for a delivery app, I get myself a free Trenta water. Ama. (self.starbucksbaristas)

How does it feel to be carrying the entirety of the service industry on your back right now, you absolute king / queen / non-binary ruler?

Exploited. All delivery apps are entirely based on ripping off the driver first then the customer and then the restaurant.

Doordash routinely offers us 10¢ per mile which equates to driving at a loss, wearing and tearing your car, not to mention depreciation.

All apps up charge the food items so even a “free” delivery is not actually free to the customer.

Apps also charge most restaurants for the delivery, straining their profit margin.

Then the companies do financial slight of hand to report “no profit” while key executives actually become wildly rich. Tony Xu, ceo of Doordash has officially and publicly become a billionaire while I still have to reject 20 poverty level delivery offers from him each hour. Sure I can say no to driving 10 miles for $2 all day but it’s deeply disturbing that Doordash continuously sends these bids out to find the suckers that will donate their time and money to the app. Also, rejecting all offers during an hour means that for that hour my income was $0
