I was taught if a drink is made of mostly milk, like a latte, refresher, tea, or a Frappuccino, charge for the milk! if it’s going to be a small amount, like adding to an americano, iced coffee, or a brew coffee, you do not charge them! I hope that clears things up a little! as a barista, I never mind if a fellow partner asks while taking the order, green bean or seasoned. we are here to help each other!

When you’re on the milk modification page on the POS look and see if a milk is already selected. If so, then charge the person to change it. Always be careful of when people ask for things like “doppio espresso iced and filled to the top with two percent” it’s an iced latte and they should be charged for an iced latte

iced coffee cold brew hot coffee + americanos : any milk less than 4 ounces is free of charge.
if they want to change the milk entirely say for like a latte or frappuccino, essentially any drink that is made with milk, you charge them for that. so a latte with almond milk you charge for the milk, but not an iced coffee with almond milk, since you would only be using less than 4oz.
hope this helps:)

My store has always said the there’s more than half a cup of milk in the drink, you charge them for it if they want to change the default milk.
