I let all my shifts and SM know I need time sometimes. They are pretty understanding. I keep a fidget toy in my apron. Good to fiddle with to ground myself. Also seriously grabbing ice is a great way to stop dissociations for me. 54321 is another great skill. Or for me, I’ll ask to go on CS because I have such a strict routine and something to always focus on. So when something triggers me, I literally just go back to basics and will repeat in my head exactly what I’m supposed to do. Like okay I’m on cycle task and need to make whips. As I’m doing it, I tell myself the steps, just to keep both mind and hands busy.

Also, therapy! Seriously take advantage of Lyra! It’s 20 sessions for free with your choice of therapist in the area and you can even find ones that’ll accept your insurance once Lyra is up for the year.

i do a lot of grounding techniques. 873 breathing, 54321 grounding, stuff like that. i remind myself the shift is temporary, i’ll clock out like i always do and go home. it doesn’t always fix it but it can help.

It's still a work in progress for me but I'm working through getting better at getting through them. However I've noticed that it's crapshoot on whether or not to open about it because someone people are understanding about it, but then some vile partners will use it as reason to come against you. But it's hard, my dude. I wish you all the best

Hey there!

I have talked to my SM about taking breaks in a private place and my manager doesn't make major changes in area without letting me know.

As for the panic and disossiation itself I just focus on the idea that I have a counter to protect me and focus on the small things within drinks. Sometimes it doesn't work and I just focus to finish my shift and head home. Anything specific you're looking for?
