I may not have Type 1 diabetes, but I had a partner who had it. My team all worked together to accommodate to his needs and ensure he was okay. Even if it meant he took extra five minute breaks to ensure he was okay. My team eventually learned all the signs of him not feeling well, and when we needed to pull him off the floor so he could eat and take his medication. Eventually my manager was told he could file for an accommodation through PCC (we didn’t know this was a thing he could have done when he was hired) and he gets 15 minute breaks instead of ten. We all still watch out for signs of him crashing and ensuring he is okay to work. He was one of my strongest partners and that I am aware he gets the same good treatment at his new store.
I’m sorry that your team made you quit, I know management varying can affect someone’s views on a company, but no one should ever make you feel bad over something you have no control. In any job at that, so just know that it is considered bullying and it can be reported to any HR.
