250**** ready to clock out permanently. [Rant](self.starbucksbaristas)

I’m a shift supervisor at my store, and I’m ready to be done. We’re constantly understaffed, overworked, and underpaid. This newest pay raise was barely anything, and I’m exhausted. I’m the most frequent closer, and I constantly get shit during our meetings that night shift isn’t doing enough. I feel unheard and bottom priority to everything. I’ve spent this entire shift crying because I can’t keep doing this. I just can’t. I think I’m going to quit on Monday. Tell them I’ll work the rest of the week and that’s it.

Anyone thinking of quitting should know about personal leave-- as long as you've been employed for 12 months, you can take personal leave up to 30 days long. During this leave you can use any sick time and vacation time you have accrued, and you get to keep your benefits. Obvi if you don't give much notice, it still will burn some bridges, but at least there's some more money in your pocket.

Do I need to contact PCC about this at all?

Sedgwick for 30 day personal leave...and it has to be approved by SM and HR/DM

Also, you have to give 30 day notice for your leave. I was in a similar situation where I was ready to just quit but stuck it out until I could take my personal leave (started at the beginning of December and it’s such a nice break so far). It is unpaid but I have been saving up for a while now.
I also am transferring stores when I come back from my break in January so it will be a good change of scene

Don’t burn a reference bridge. At least give 2 weeks notice. It’s ok to be stressed out. Go find something that makes the days a little easier for you ❤️

I appreciate the idea, but I feel like a week is reasonable since it starts tomorrow as well. And I just don’t know that I can’t last another 40 hour week.

I will add, you don't have to use a supervisor as a reference. I hire people and when I contact references it is to just confirm dates worked. If I want a character reference I ask for letters of recommendation.
They don't give you a 2 week notice when you get fired.
Always be on team you.
Best of luck!

Another night shift here! Trust me I feel your pain on a deep level. Working nights at a busy drive thru store is soooo bad & morning people just don’t get it. In order to keep myself from going crazy I remind my night crew that we are all one store one team so all we can do is our best & that just has to be good enough

Closing shift is the worst position at STarbucks. I would know because I'm on month 9 of it. Extinguishes all joy and hope and you turn into an exhausted robot.

I was the main closing shift too and recently quit. I totally get it, all of the responsibilities get dumped on closers. The “raise” was just bullshit to make it seem like they cared about us. People calling out or having symptoms every day so we’re constantly understaffed. Good on you for getting out of there!

Do not be ashamed. Closers get the worst treatment, especially closing leads. I would honestly do the same too. Takes a lot of courage to do this but if it's draining you then best to just go. I wish you good luck in the future. Take care of yourself 🤙🏼

Oh man. Now I’m worried. I’ll be promoting to shift relatively soon and I know they will have me closing.😳
