Grande in a venti cup (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by babbalabbam
I need to rant about this concept and how people react to it. I understand customers think they're slick and trying to pay less for more, but my manager has STRICTLY stated we make these drinks in the size that has been rung up. I made a grande in a venti cup drink, therefore was significantly LESS than a venti cup as we all know, yet people have the AUDACITY to tell my baristas we've made their drinks wrong when in reality we're following a formula. there's no way it's wrong just because we don't waste our stock just for a cheap trick.

If someone orders G in a V cup I always leave 4oz of room. And I’ve told customers before that they won’t get the cup filled because they’re only paying for a 16oz product in a 20oz cup.

Now if it’s brewed coffee idc if I fill it the rest with milk/cream cause 4oz is the limit for free dairy anyway.

Last week I had a customer who demanded to split 2 venti drinks into 4 different tall cups. She did not want to pay for 4 lattes so I guess this is what she resorts to.

I'm struggling to come up with a way that this could be abused. If someone orders a grande latte in a venti cup, I'd just say that there's gonna be space unless they want extra whip or cream in their latte.

This might just be kind of a thing that a few people try and take advantage of, but the only thing I've ever seen grande in a venti for is extra ice, 4 oz of cream, or extra room.

I order this way all the time because I want extra room — I like drinking without a lid in the car and haven’t it no spill all over me is nice
