to the customer who told another rude customer to stop being a jerk, we <3 you (self.starbucksbaristas)

the morning was pretty slow. i was on bar for 4 1/2 hours out of my 5 hour shift (which i don’t care, bar is my fav place to be) but around 930-ish it got BUSY. the drive thru was so long that the street behind our store was blocked, and we had close to 35 people in our tiny cafe. we were getting drinks out fast(only 1 or 2 minutes behind on cafe, and 2 or 3 mins behind on DT), but as we’re a block over from a huge mall people were pouring in non stop.

well, i was doing my thing on bar and a drink had been rang up wrong, therefore made wrong. as i was remaking the drink (he’s a regular and the absolute sweetest) i hear “i mean i know it’s busy but how hard is it to make 6 drinks??? like their job isn’t that hard” like??? that comment was so unnecessary. i mean there were at least 7 drinks before his. he kept nagging (although he never actually came up to the bar and bothered us about it, but rather stayed where he was and mumbled under his breath) but whatver.

and out of nowhere, another guy who was waiting, is like “hey dude, it actually is that hard. i worked in fast food when i was younger, it’s tough especially in times like these.” like he was so sweet even though it was literally crazy.

(first guy said something like, “yeah i bet it’s so hard to make coffee all day boohoo”)

it just made me happy that finally, there’s a customer that understands we’re tired and stressed and doesn’t make a fuss....and also kept me and my coworkers from getting yelled at by grumpy people <3

I will keep supporting partners once I leave the company. I swear if I hear anybody talking shit about working at a coffee shop, they'll get an earful from me. Thank that customer for me for standing up for you guys.

Same here. I've been out of food service for about 5 years now, but I'm the first to step in for them. Food service is hell and no customer has a right to make it worse.

Please continue to do so. Show them that they matter, especially during these harsh times. Tip them if possible.

Always, my friend. Over tipper for life.

I hope someone said something along the lines of “why don’t you come put on an apron and see how easy it is” asshole. Glad someone stood up

i wish these people who say “oh it can’t be THAT hard”’could work just one shift and see that it’s not as easy as it looks

As a former partner (at the time) now back in the green apron. I was so happy I wasn’t a partner at the time I heard this lady’s tone with the sweet girl at reg, I could feel her Karen vibes FUMING as she stared at them from outside with her laser beam eyes. When the drink was right and she said it was wrong I politely told her to “Take her 119 degree nonfat no foam cappuccino (🙄) and to leave these girls have it hard enough as it is lol she left thank his
