Calling out (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by imvni5
I just called out for my first shift since I started a couple of months ago and I feel so bad about it. I starting to feel burnt out though and I really just needed a break. How I stop the feeling of guilt? 😭

Remember that you don’t owe Starbucks anything and your time is yours. If your coworkers get pissed because you called out once then they need to check themselves.

Go take a nap. kick your feet up and relax. Maybe do some self care things. Don’t worry about work. They’ll be fine.

If you’re feeling guilty, maybe talk to your SM about requesting a couple days off sometime. If you want to avoid feelings of burn out, it’s better to address it than wait for it to build and then call out day of. Either way, do what’s best for you and try to relax!

agreed! try and allow yourself a few days of time
off a month. if calling out makes you feel stressed out, you’re doing the opposite of helping your mental health. and if you do request off, don’t let anyone talk you into picking up shifts, or changing your time off requests. those are your days, and you don’t owe anyone an explanation as to why you’re taking off.

You deserve to take care of yourself. Also, if you’re starting to feel burnt out, how much will you really be able to help or do your job? You aren’t letting anyone down by taking care of yourself and your needs, and if anyone is making you feel that way, you need to nip it in the bud because that toxicity isn’t going to help resolve anything.

On another note (to bitchmcconnelll): Fantastic username! Made my day, so thank you!
