If you honestly cannot keep a mask on for at least 30 minutes without having breathing problems, then you probably shouldn't be going out.
ninten-dont 24 points 2y ago
listen it’s a difficult concept

One Karen really tried to pull the “I have a medical condition” card on me..
putsumrespectonit 5 points 2y ago
I have to ask. How did you handle the situation?
insignificantadc 19 points 2y ago
not op but as a ssv the way I handle that (constantly) is stating that I’m not refusing to serve them but I will have to take their order & method of payment from outside and bring their order outside. Sounds like a lot of work, but the moment they hear all the hassle they’re either magically well enough to put a mask on for 5 mins or just leave in discontent.
FelicityCecilia 4 points 2y ago
What the other commenter said. Tell them I’ll take their order outside
tippinfedora 11 points 2y ago
Don’t forget the chin diaper!
VectoredClarinet 8 points 2y ago
You forgot the one where they use their hand to keep it in place.
CriticalSheep 8 points 2y ago
Pulling it away from their face so they can talk as if its blocking their voices...
VectoredClarinet 5 points 2y ago
Or to unlock their phone. Passcode please?
CriticalSheep 3 points 2y ago
OMG YES or they could have just recalibrated their biometrics to accept the mask as well as without it.
VectoredClarinet 4 points 2y ago
Eh, I tried that and it doesn't accept a face ID with a mask on; at least on an iPhone. But once it rejects your face, you get an option to enter your passcode. It isn't rocket science, just slightly inconvenient.

I’m curious if we will still need masks after the vaccine
nightkat89 3 points 2y ago
We will for a while. It won’t be a magical fix

Personally, I plan on wearing a mask for at LEAST the next year. I don’t think that COVID-19 is going away anytime soon.

From what I’ve been reading, in the U.K. there is a new strain that has something like 17 new mutations (all at once), which is apparently a rare occurrence in the way of the amount of mutations happening simultaneously.
This virus is going to continue to mutate and vaccines will have to continuously be updated.

In addition, there’s the other serious issue of COVID-19 spreading from humans to other species, and then back to humans. This has happened already with minks. I just recently read about how Denmark and the Netherlands had to cull their entire mink population (millions of mink, euthanized). In other countries, including the United States, mink have been found to carry different strains of COVID-19. In the US, WILD free-range mink were found in Utah that were infected with a new and different strain of the virus. This poses a problem if/when these newly mutated strains jump BACK over to humans from mink (or another species).

Also, not EVERYONE is going to want to get the vaccine. Those with severe allergies, or immunocompromised people like myself, are likely going to wait awhile (maybe even years?) before getting the vaccine. If they even decide to. ** I’m no scientist. Not trying to start any arguments. Just relaying some of news that I’ve read about COVID-19. **

How do you feel about drive thru customers and masks?
minikoo02 [OP] 1 points 2y ago
My last store had a drive thru and to be quite frank we were still very close to the customers, so I prefer when the customers wore their masks in the drive through. Not to mention when we’re handing them drinks and they don’t have a mask on and are speaking, they’re probably getting droplets all over our arms. I’d usually close the window if they didn’t have their mask on and not engage in any conversation.
