I was hired on about a month and a half or so ago, and it took me about two weeks to get an interview. Reason it took that long is because I already have a main source of income so I wasn’t rushing to get hired on (I really didn’t go out of my way to check on the status of my application).
Definitely check back with them and ask about your application, it shows them you’re interested and actually wanting to work there.
My best tip for the interview is to have a cheerful attitude. For the work itself, I can say the same in that having a positive attitude is better for everyone on the team. Even if it gets hectic and stressful, it’s not worth stressing over and affecting your coworkers which affects the work environment itself. I can say the same for any job, really.
I wish you the best of luck! ☺️

Day 1: Applied
Day 2: Got an interview
Day 4: Heard back from interview
Day 6: Heard back from background check
Day 8: First day working
I think I got lucky with timing, but also, I was super persistent with calling them and trying to find out where my application was in the process

Sweet, hopefully mine gets back relatively soon as well.

It doesn’t take long. Call the store and have them review your application. When you go in for the interview, show lots of energy and charisma. They are looking for someone who can hold a conversation. Also, try to be extremely observant and proactive. Its a job that requires an extraordinary amount of stamina, also it’s extremely rewarding and lots of fun.

Thanks, and do you think it is fine if I am more laid back and chill? I am definitely not super energetic, but am willing to learn everything needed to perform well there.
Ashamed_Equal2 points2y ago
Watch the vibe you are giving off! Laid back and chill can either have a “relaxed and open to ideas/learning” vibe or a “lazy and don’t care” vibe.
Rabbit_Basic1 points2y ago
Yeah, I would definitely say I would be going in with a more relaxed/open to new ideas kind of mindset. Thank you for the advice!

Took 2-3 weeks from applying until I started training. And tips? Idk youll get training. Work when you’re at work but dont take it home with you; we arent payed enough for that
Rabbit_Basic2 points2y ago
Don’t take it home with you? And yeah, heard pay isn’t great, but rlly doing it for the college achievement plan they have.
FelicityCecilia2 points2y ago
Nice, thats what I plan on doing too. And yeah, work stays at work dont work at home

I heard back like a week after I applied (but before that I had applied 5 times over the years and never heard back lol)
The most recent time I submitted a cover letter so I think it’s helpful to do something to show you’re serious like a cover letter or simply calling the manager after you’ve applied
Rabbit_Basic1 points2y ago
Yeah, I still haven’t heard back. Prolly gonna call the manager.
NervosaNervous2 points2y ago
I submitted my application on September 13th and didn’t hear anything until about four weeks later.
Rabbit_Basic1 points2y ago
Yeah, hoping that isn’t the case, going to try and contact them, but not be annoying about it.

It depends on if the store is hiring and on the manager. I applied in July and eventually figured I wasn't going to hear back, but I randomly got an email from my manager in September asking me to call for an interview.
