I finally got the job at a brand new Starbucks in my area! I can’t wait to start... I have been a barista at a licensed store for a while and I’m so glad to finally be at a corporate location! And tips for me? I love getting hours, so if I show that I am a good worker, will I get scheduled more? Thanks

The best way to get hours is to pick up shifts at other stores. I generally get about 10-15 hours a week at other stores. But also if you work hard you will likely get scheduled more.

Yep, same over here. My manager is having to reduce our labor and hours and now we have 2 people out for self isolation. My manager scheduled me for the most hours he could because he says he likes how hard i work. :)

I will definitely do that! Even at my store now I pick up shifts and work some 50 hour weeks, so I will try and pick up shifts at my new store too! It is brand new so I’m excited for the new machines and stuff! My store currently only has the mastrena 1s and the new ones look so fancy and cool to me, not to mention we don’t have nitro cold brew, my FAVORITE DRINK

Thanks! Yeah I have worked some 50 hour weeks at my licensed store, and I love to work, so hopefully I can prove that to my manager! I love Starbucks culture, so I feel like this is the job for me!

I basically busted my ass when I first started to get more hours and it worked. I was promised like 25 hours a week or something and after a month I was regularly on 32-35. Maybe start a group chat with your store, memes and stuff boost morale :) It’s also a great way to advertise that you’re looking for hours

Thanks! That’s honestly my situation now. She said she can schedule all of us about 25 per week, which I’m hoping to boost! I try and do my best with all of my jobs

Haha well I loved working even at a licensed store so hopefully I will enjoy the money and benefits that corporate offers... currently I don’t get any free drinks, discounts, tips, or anything, so hopefully I like corporate better.
