i’m not sorry about your lack of products, i’m sorry for the verbal abuse you will endure for not having them 😣

Can the manager at least put out a sign?
Those poor baristas are gonna get murdered by those customers even with the sign, but at least it would make it less painful
eat-reddit-tv42 points2y ago
“Only official Starbucks signage is allowed.” 🤬
is_it_soy48 points2y ago
“Signs take away our ability to create a conversation with our customers.” - some dumbass DM, probably
eat-reddit-tv19 points2y ago
Yup
Probably the same twat who just adds more tasks to the CS role without batting an eye.
TheBayesianBandit3 points2y ago
I feel like the circumstances necessitate breaking that rule. I mean, so many things have gone wrong here for the sign the be more than a blip on their radar if they ever even hear what’s going on at this location let along visit it at that exact moment.
Not putting one up is just cruel.
skagod0267 points2y ago
i just got war flashbacks to when we ran out of venti + grande cups and lids, trays, and 2%
AdamAce3 [OP]19 points2y ago
Yup, been there done that
writer_savant14 points2y ago
You mentioned “no lids” and I got a flashback of when when I worked there and we ran out of grande/venti lids.
Customer: “Where’s my lid?” Me: “I’m sorry, but we ran out?” Customer: “What do you mean? How can you run out of lids?” Me “...”
sarawr2553 points2y ago
This is what our store looks like. I’m getting tired of saying, “yes I know this is the ‘x’ day we are out of butter croissants and no I don’t know when we are getting it in. “ etc etc.
sorrysmithy41 points2y ago
i’m sorry you have to experience that omg
csaine26 points2y ago
Seriously, why are you open if you have no product to offer? I really don't get it. I might get a kick out of telling Karen she can only have a cup of ice water for about the first 10 minutes, but after getting yelled at a few times I would be so done.
AdamAce3 [OP]22 points2y ago
Beats me, our whole distribution district has barely gotten any orders. Apparently someone in the distribution center got COVID or something and they are understaffed.
ninjaturtlepants24 points2y ago
Does a manager run out to a grocery store to replenish? I worked in a Second Cup (sorry for swearing) in a very busy mall and we would run out so often that on weekend shifts we would schedule someone to go buy more.
AdamAce3 [OP]20 points2y ago
Yup, we did/do this all the time, but we still run out. We hit about 80 a half on peak as a cafe with COVID so the amount of milk we go through is not always worth going to the store every few minutes. It’s much more expensive and our profits go down. She just told us do the best we can with what we have.
the42ndfl00r17 points2y ago
But you're still making profits without anything to sell and paying everyone's wages? I see a problem with this logic. I'm sure not everyone is interested in having black coffee or espresso.
AdamAce3 [OP]18 points2y ago
I don’t know man honestly. I just work there and do what I’m told haha.
the1noir9 points2y ago
Time upsell refreshers and iced tea lol.
ninjaturtlepants4 points2y ago
Wow...this is...SO shitty.
ninjaturtlepants7 points2y ago
Also, this is anxiety inducing in a coffee shop - so sorry for this.
ruby286322 points2y ago
This is our store rn too. The distribution center for the majority of Los Angeles is shut down because most of them have covid. So all the customers are pissed we dont have anything and they are trying to emergency ship us things but its not going very well lol
AdamAce3 [OP]14 points2y ago
Yup, I’m in la too
ruby28639 points2y ago
Its definitely not been a fun experience. Sending good vibez to your store
AdamAce3 [OP]9 points2y ago
You as well
Lagertha-queen1 points2y ago
I’m in the OC and in some of the areas it’s the same thing. We were suggested to shut down but our manager refuses
dfarner18 points2y ago
Just sell cinnamon raisin bagels
AdamAce3 [OP]7 points2y ago
Ahaha
dfarner3 points2y ago
Also I’m sorry that sucks. I had a shit day at work today too.
KarluhO2 points2y ago
No one wants them when we’ve been out of cream cheese for days. My pastry cart literally has crb and sgb only
ih8yogurt11 points2y ago
What about refreshers
AdamAce3 [OP]14 points2y ago
We had mango and kiwi left when I left. This was around 1pm. We close at 9. We were out of green tea as well. And down to 2 kegs of cold brew.
trashmouthfuck11 points2y ago
i feel this so hard i’m so sorry. our store is out of pretty much every food item and people be getting hella mad
EspressoPatr0num10 points2y ago
Same boat! We literally have doughnuts. Just doughnuts. Only doughnuts. 🙃

our store is like this a lot, we’re a krobux and because of the holidays and our entire store being understaffed, we were out of 2%, eggnog, breve, AND heavy cream :) i feel ur pain
AdamAce3 [OP]2 points2y ago
Haha, we haven’t had eggnog for a month now probably
matroid213 points2y ago
But... but it's only been out for a month...
kreborn171 points2y ago
I'm a krobux too, and we just went through this the past few weeks.
bakerk954 points2y ago
Sorry for the question, but customer here - would the manager not just go out and get some more milk?
jackissosick5 points2y ago
That's what I do when we run out of any milk except heavy cream because heavy cream is stupid expensive
AdamAce3 [OP]3 points2y ago
We do, but that’s what we’ve been doing for the past couple weeks now. We have litterly been living off the grocery store, but since we are buying so many milks, our profits are much lower. We doing the best we can.
nicathor3 points2y ago
You wouldn't believe how much milk we go through in a day...
JMarBrwn1 points2y ago
I think the company gets a huge discount on dairy when they order it normally. Also depending on how far away the grocery store is, they’ll have to pay for mileage if someone goes to get it.
JMarBrwn3 points2y ago
If the store was fully staffed like normal, that is a huuuuge loss. Thousands of dollars in sales + wages gone just because of a lack of product. What is your SM thinking keeping you open? If corporate knew about this, I’m really surprised they didn’t force a shutdown until product orders were back on track.
AdamAce3 [OP]1 points2y ago
It’s been empty like this for the past few days all over the region
JMarBrwn2 points2y ago
What a nightmare. Hopefully customers have noticed the trend and aren’t freaking out about stuff. I guess it’s good to stay open since you can have some hours, but that seems rough. I’m sure you all have been doing a ton of cleaning lately haha
TemplarSensei73 points2y ago
Ah, those were the days. I remember having to go out to the stores for the milk (thankfully, it’s across the packing lot).
It only got harder when I became a shift, because 1) I was the only shift on staff at that moment, 2) none of the other baristas under my shift can drive. And some of those times were during holidays and sales.
Now, I could not imagine the stacking of Holiday, sales, and COVID all at the same time. So from a veteran to you folks, I salute you.
Spiritual_Cat_41683 points2y ago
are there distribution centers per state/region or is it country wide because i feel like ALL starbucks r out of everything
AdamAce3 [OP]2 points2y ago
I believe there are a few per region.
jackissosick3 points2y ago
I'm a little curious how this happens
CriticalSheep7 points2y ago
There’s been some Covid outbreaks in the warehouses so logistics aren’t delivering on occasion. So high volume stores that live delivery to delivery are pretty SOL
AdamAce3 [OP]5 points2y ago
Yeah, so our whole district distribution center is messed up. Something with COVID. We haven’t really been getting any orders. We are a high volume cafe store.
writer_savant2 points2y ago
This also happened long before Covid. I worked at Sbux back in 2007-2008 and we would randomly run out of things. Lids and various milks were the most common. Although there was one week during the Christmas season when we ran out of eggnog and the hell that exploded when that happened...
Trying to tell someone at 4:30 in the morning that they can’t have their venti eggnog latte is not something anyone should go through.
Lamar-JacksonSzn3 points2y ago
Why? Bad ordering? Distribution centers out of product?
You guys should close. that’s ridiculous
AdamAce3 [OP]6 points2y ago
Distribution center COVID issue. Haven’t gotten an order in a while. Been living off sharing with other stores and buying emergency product from the local grocery store.
MamaRedCard2 points2y ago
I’m having Tarbucks ptsd flashbacks to when we ran out of frap base and heavy cream.
kandiwarriorprincess2 points2y ago
Refreshers for dayssss! But for real; good luck!
lilmorphinannie2 points2y ago
::looks at display case:: “so do you have the cake pop?”
AdamAce3 [OP]1 points2y ago
Haha.
Capital-Cap62602 points2y ago
wow at least its easier to clean the inside of the fridge 🤗 Sorry for all the angry customers you will meet today. Blame it on 2020 and covid 🤪
MatchingColors2 points2y ago
That’s brutal I feel an early close is in order for you.
Reminds me when someone fucked the order one time and we to go to three grocery stores to claim all the 2% milk we could.
alo-san2 points2y ago
Sounds about right smh
Educational_Love76182 points2y ago
I’m so sorry as I can imagine what you’re all going through. May the siren bless you
tiffsrae2 points2y ago
Big oof
brensteven20051 points2y ago
Is this from newnan, ga by chance?
AdamAce3 [OP]1 points2y ago
Nah, SoCalifornia
AdamAce3 [OP]1 points2y ago
Update: It’s two days later, still have no non dairies. People are constantly pissed. Almost no food, aside from a few sandwiches. We ran out of peppermint and are on our last mocha.
TheIndefiniteHiatus1 points2y ago
Wow. Is this because the shipments are delayed or something? I hope the customers are chill about it, I mean shit happens right?
AdamAce3 [OP]1 points2y ago
Issue with distribution center due to Covid. Region-wide
bryceofswadia1 points2y ago
I work at the busiest store in my distrct and we almost never run out of one milk, let alone all of them. But that’s cuz we order a shit ton, and get more often.
AdamAce3 [OP]6 points2y ago
No we order a shit ton too. It was just an issue with our distribution center. We were thankfully only out of all non dairies. We had cows milk
