damn id rather be on window then bar these days. so much more relaxing. and i don’t connect with customers unless they start talking to me, coz that’s too much work lol.

Our SM is big on no backs to the window and as an introvert trying to force small talk, window hurts my soul lol.

hahaha i don’t turn my back either. just stand there and enjoy the nature outside i suppose. i like when it rains and people roll their windows up.
forcing small talk only annoys customers. i have meaningful connections when friendly/bubbly customers come by who want to talk. i enjoy these connections.
edit: customer connection score is BS anyway. the survey usually goes to customers who have only visited your store once. and they have to “strongly agree” for the score to go up. most people would just agree or neutral, even if they had a positive experience.
when you change a coffee shop to a fast food place, those connections slip away.

Not sure how I got on this sub I’m just a customer, but as an introvert I don’t really want to talk to the barista either lol.

this makes me so happy bc i’m hella introverted and when my manager first started telling me abt customer connections i was like uh when i’m the customer somewhere i don’t want them to talk to me i wanna get my food/drink and leave. i’m not there to make friends lol i mean i can be polite but ya know

I got yelled at the other day by a lady cuz she started to leave without her drink and I thought she was going to back into the car behind her so I said "don't back up there's a car behind you!" She was pissed cuz I shouldn't tell at her, I didn't, and I guess I should have known she had a back up camera and that would make sure she didn't hit anyone 🙄 thankfully the woman behind her was happy I didn't let the first one back into her.

The way some of our customers lack logic hurts me

All my leads now know never to put me on window because they know I'm the strongest bar lol
yikesmarissa [OP]4 points2y ago
I’m actually a lead at my store but we’re training a bunch of shifts for a store opening up, so I’m stuck being wherever the newbies put me 😅
SpikedBubbles3 points2y ago
Honestly I’d kill to be on window for a few shifts at this point. I’ve been on bar all day every day for a month and I’m burnt out.

Same. I got put on window when I went in for my shift the other day just to cover someone's lunch. It was so relaxing. Which is weird to say. Then they came back and I went to bar for the rest of my shift and the drive thru was busy the whole time. Those were some relaxing 30 minutes.
