am i the only one? (grande rant in a tall cup) (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by grungexisxdead
i’m come onto this page pretty much every night, just to see how other people’s days have been, crazy drink orders, rude karen’s, the whole thing. one thing i love seeing is crazy drink orders, seeing a stupid amount of syrups, weird flavor combos, or what could only be button mashing. i don’t care what you get, i get twelve pumps of syrup and ex sweet cream in my daily drink, you could get a cup full of white mocha and milk for all i care, as long as it makes you happy, who cares what you get, you paid for it, not us. however, under each of these posts, is several people complaining about well why judge them for what they order, it’s not you drinking it so why does it matter? i made a post about a cup of milk, and i was just posting it because it was a cup of milk with ice, and i was just a little confused, but knew it was probably for a kid, and i just felt like other people would get a kick out of that, yet the comments made me feel guilty for posting about it, like?? i don’t think there’s a single job out there that you could work without any complaint or rant, it’s just unreasonable, so why do you get so upset at people for doing just that? yes we knew what we signed up for, but dealing with rude customers all day, and then here as well?? that just baffles me.
i know i can’t be the only one who thinks this way, right? anyways, sorry for any misspellings or grammar, i’m don’t care much for proof reading lol.

I’m confused. The top two comments to your post entitled “why? just why?” are:

> Kid wanting to feel fancy?

and

> Why? Because that’s what they chose to order.

The most judgemental person on your post was... you.

i know it’s hard to read tone from text, as well as there wasn’t a lot of text, but i posted that because i was genuinely curious about it, and i got my answer, a kid wanting to feel fancy, as if they were drinking a coffee like their parent. i didn’t caption the picture “oh my god this is disgusting” or “i would cry, who in their right mind would order this?” i wasn’t judging someone for ordering it at all. but it’s not just for my post, there was a customer who made a post about how baristas we’re making fun of her drink right in front of her, granted it was a mobile order, and they didn’t know she was there, but that drink was something that she looked forward to after a hard week, and it’s things like that that i’m tired of seeing. yes, i might wonder how certain things taste good, but i would never belittle someone for what they order, i still get paid at the end of the day, so it doesn’t bother me, as long as their happy
