If you’re at a corporate store, there will be 7 major roles that each barista will learn and work in.

1. CUSTOMER SUPPORT: This role is actually more about supporting the other baristas. This includes washing dishes, cleaning the floors, making sure all stations are stocked with coffee, syrups, milks, napkins, etc., covid cleaning, delivering curbside pickup, brewing drip coffee, and anything else the other baristas need you to do.

2. HOT BAR: Making all hot drinks, as well as iced lattes.

3. COLD BAR: Making all cold drinks, like refreshers, Frappuccinos, cold brews, iced teas, etc.

4. DRIVE THRU ORDER (DTO): Using a headset to take customer orders in the drive through, and queuing drinks for the window handout.

5. DRIVE THRU WINDOW: Taking payments and handing out drinks at the drive thru window.

6. FRONT REGISTER: Taking orders and payments from customers who walk into the store.

7. WARMING OVEN: Heating up and packaging sandwiches and pastries.

As for perks, your manager will go over a huge packet of benefits with you. :)

It really depends on location and management. Company can be great or terrible. Do some research on your location. Sit inside (if you can) or talk to partners in the drive thur not during peak. Daily tasks again depend on opening/ mid shift/ closing. Can vary. Usually you’ll be on window or front of house for the first few months. Watch the people around you and don’t be afraid to ask for opportunities to do bar. Perks are school, free food even when you don’t work, health care, spotify, and lots more. GL!

You’ll love it! Also my first three months I made lots of stupid mistakes. Just laugh at yourself and know that you’ll get better :-)
