After a few months of working in a new store in Arizona, I’d gotten very comfortable with the regulars and really enjoyed chatting with them.
I loved talking football with “Mark”. Every time he’d come in, we talk about the Arizona Cardinals (his team) or the Seattle Seahawks (my team).
One day he asked if I was going to the game when the Seahawks came to town. I told him I didn’t think I’d be able to afford tickets and he said, “well you can have mine! I’ll check with my son and if he doesn’t mind not going then they’re yours!” I thanked him though I honesty didn’t expect to hear from him after that. My manager, whose husband was a Seahawks fan, joked that if I got the tickets that her husband would love to go. I told her if I got four, he could definitely come with.
About a week later, I was filling in at another store in town and my manager called the store to tell me that “Mark” had dropped off four tickets, a parking pass and a food card with $150 on it. I told her that her husband was definitely invited.
A few days later, my two friends and I met up with her husband and attended the game together. We ate like kings and had a fantastic time thanks to “Mark”. We all put in $20 to buy “Mark” a sbux gift card as a thank you.
It was generous and he didn’t have to do it. I will forever be grateful for his kindness
